CONFIRMATION
Confirmation for pupils who were in 6th class last year will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Rowlagh on Saturday 5th September.
To adhere to Covid-19 regulations regards gathering in confined spaces only one class can be allowed into the church at any one time. Numbers inside the church must also be limited.
For this reason, the numbers attending with the Confirmation child must be limited to two persons. This can be two parents or a parent and sponsor. If two parents accompany a child a sponsor can be named on their Confirmation records but a child cannot have more than two adults with them in the church.
There will be three separate Confirmation ceremonies on the day.
11 o’ clock Mr. B. Watson’s class.
12 o’ clock Mr. L. Kavanagh’s class
1 o’ clock Ms. J. O’Neill’s class.
There will be no Ceremony of Light this year. Instead, three preparation videos for Confirmation have been created by the Irish Bishops Conference and are available on this school website.
There will be no albs worn this year.
Pupils’ graduation certificates will be presented to them by their teacher when leaving the church after the ceremony.
Fr. Hugh Kavanagh will be in contact nearer the date to get Confirmation names pupils are taking and also the sponsors names.
