Choir – Music

Unfortunately, due to Covid19 restrictions, choir practice can no longer take place during the 2020 – 2021 school year.

They are a fantastic group of children who have proved themselves to be very talented and hard-working. Since we regrouped in October they have performed at all our school masses, and most recently at Confirmation.  Our school would like to congratulate them on their wonderful performances. They bring meaning and atmosphere to all of these occasions. We are also very grateful to Ms. Geraldine Mc Ardle and Mr. Gary Troy for accompanying us on guitar at Confirmation each year. Thanks also to Nora for organising all our sheet music and folders throughout the year and Rene for providing us with rolls every Monday.

The choir continue to rehearse every Monday. They recently performed at our prayer service during Catholic Schools Week. At the moment the Choir are preparing songs for our Easter Service. In addition, they also prepare and sing songs which feature in the charts and we are hoping to perform these at a later date. After Easter we will be busy preparing for Confirmation. Thanks to Jean for ensuring we have a constant supply of healthy snacks every Monday

After Easter, I will be looking for new Choir members from 3rd class to join the choir as we prepare for Confirmation, End of Year and Graduation ceremonies. I would like to thank the choir for all their efforts and dedication in making Tuesday afternoons in school a very happy and enjoyable experience for all

We would like to thank the choir for all their efforts and dedication in making Monday afternoons in school a very happy and enjoyable experience for all.

DABBLEDOO-NEW MUSIC PROGRAMME

This year – 2019 – we hope to make music lessons more enjoyable and enriching with our new music programme “Dabbledoo”. This programme is designed to be interactive and children will be enabled to engage in music lessons that promote creativity, collaboration and hopefully instill a life-long love of music.

Teachers received in-service training in September and are looking forward to delivering music lessons during the year. So far, teachers and pupils are really enjoying the programme with lots of music making to be heard within the school.
