We are very fortunate to have a Parents’ room in our school, which was funded by the Dormant Accounts Fund. Parents have a room in St. Bernadette’s Schools, designed specifically for their use. It can be a place where people have privacy within the school to discuss concerns that may have arisen for them. Toys, books and colouring books are on hand to occupy pre – schoolers who may be with a parent visiting the school. This room is a hive of activity each day, being used by parents, pupils and community groups. Some of the activities that take place include:
- Art classes for parents
- Craft classes for parents
- Cookery classes for parents and pupils
- Horticulture classes for parents
- Jewellery making classes for parents
- Information seminars for parents
- Halloween treats
- “Incredible Years” Course for parents.
Drop in to The Parents’ Room to find out about classes and activities for parents and children in the community. Have a cup of tea or coffee or a chat with other parents.
Please see the website or Facebook page for more details and contact Gillian HSCL if interested in participating.
