Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the St. Bernadette’s Senior National School website. I’m delighted you’ve taken the time to visit, and I hope this gives you a genuine feel for what life is like at our school.
I’d like to start by thanking Mr. Jim Ryan for his many years of leadership here. He leaves behind a strong, caring school community, and I’m proud to carry that work forward as the new Principal.
On this site you’ll find examples of what our pupils get up to and the work they’re rightly proud of. Do check back regularly for updates and news from around the school.
Above all, we want St. Bernadette’s to feel welcoming to everyone, whatever their background. Our staff are committed to making sure every child feels safe and happy here, because that’s what allows them to thrive.
We look at each child’s development as a whole — not just academic progress, but their confidence, wellbeing and character too. We want our pupils to leave us willing to try new things, and equipped with the skills to manage life both in and outside the classroom.
What makes this school special is its people. Everyone here, staff and pupils alike, contributes something of their own, and that shared effort is what gives St. Bernadette’s its sense of community.
Since opening its doors in September 1983, our school has grown alongside Quarryvale and remained closely tied to the community around it. We’re proud of what’s been achieved here over the years, and we remain committed to meeting the needs of local families as they change.
I feel privileged every day to watch our pupils grow into confident young people, supported by their parents, our teaching staff, special needs assistants, and everyone else who forms part of school life here.
Thank you for placing your trust in us to care for your children.
If you’d like to know more about the school or arrange a visit, please get in touch — you’ll be very welcome.
Gillian Lynch
Principal
