31st December 2020

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Primary and Post-Primary schools will continue to remain closed until Monday, January 11th, 2021.

It was anticipated schools would reopen from January 6th, 2021, however, based on information provided by the National Public Health Emergency Team, the Government of Ireland has issued all schools to remain closed until Monday, January 11th and keep the rest of the country under Level 5 restrictions until January 31st.

The Government is asking families to use this extended time to reduce their social contacts before a full return to school. As a result, Level 5 restrictions require us to have no visitors/indoor gatherings in our homes and to stay at home unless it’s for essential travel or exercise within a 5km radius.

When our school reopens to students and staff, we will continue to make use of hand sanitiser, keeping a distance of 2 metres, where possible, when in the schoolyard and visits to the school are strictly by appointment only.

Please stay safe at this time, for more information regarding COVID-19 and its symptoms please click here and for information regarding Level 5 restrictions click here.

Further updates will be provided through our  website,  Facebook  and  Twitter.

25th June 2020

CONFIRMATION DATE  – 5th Sept.

6th class pupils will make their Confirmation on Saturday, 5th September 2020……the first Saturday in September.

As large crowds will not be allowed into the church, the ceremony for each class will be staggered.  This will enable all 6th class pupils, their parents and sponsor to attend the cermony.

Each class will have their Confirmation ceremony separately at a set time of one hour apart…..Mr. Watson’s class @ 11 o’clock, Mr. Kavanagh’s class @ 12 o’clock & Ms. O’ Neill’s class @ 1 o’clock.

GRADUATION

We will also celebrate the pupils graduating from 6th class on the same day.

We will take individual photos of each pupil and present them with their 6th class Graduation Certificate from St. Bernadette’s Senior School.

We look forward to meeting up with you all on the first Saturday of September…..something to look forward to.

We will furnish more detailed information nearer the time – as soon as the school reopens in late August.

Take care, stay safe and enjoy the summer.

CONFIRMATION………POSTPONED

Dear boys & girls, parents & guardians,

We have just been informed that Holy Communions and Confirmations will not go ahead during May and June due to Government and HSE Covid-19 restrictions.

We are all very disappointed that the Confirmation ceremony, scheduled to take place on Thursday 28th May 2020 will be postponed for a later date.

As soon as the restrictions are eased we will see what we are allowed to do and hopefully we can celebrate the Confirmation in the near future.

As large gatherings will probably not be allowed for a long time we may have to have a number of Masses for smaller groups. We are very flexible as to what will suit you best.

Thank you for making this sacrifice for the sake of all of our people.

We are constantly keeping in touch with Archbishop’s House and trying to come up with the best plan possible. We will inform you as soon as we hear any further news.

Take care and stay safe.
