HERITAGE IN SCHOOLS

The children had a great day exploring the outdoors yesterday with Joan from the The Heritage Council discussing Heritage in Schools.
The students participated in a fun, hands-on activity that explored how to identify tree species in their school grounds by their bark & their leaves.
Students explored the key elements (sunlight, water, air, nutrients, and soil) that are essential for tree growth.
Thanks to Neil for letting us use compost he made from fallen leaves. The soil in the vegetable boxes will be revived for spring planting.
We are looking forward to Joan’s next visit already!
